Job Title: New Patient Pharmacy Technician

Status: Full Time, Non-Exempt

Reports To: Pharmacy Technician Lead

Department: Pharmacy Operations

Location: Dallas, TX

 

Position Overview:

Receives new patient information and enters the prescription in order to run the claim. Verifies new patient's prescriptions are entered correctly and ensures results are a paid claim.

 

Education / Licensing Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required, Associates Degree preferred.

PCTB and Texas Pharmacy Technician License required

 

Experience Requirements:

1-3 years' Retail Pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Validates all state and pharmacy requirements on prescriptions to ensure compliance.

  • Communicates with physician’s offices in order to ensure continuous patient care

  • Utilize the Technician portal for processes and policies for the department.

  • Review of important notes in patient profile for best customer service

  • Understand the functions of Helix and Carepath systems

  • Knowledgeable on Senderra community values and demonstrate them daily

  • Works through the new patient queue and enters prescriptions in the order received.

  • Ensures all insurance information is entered.

  • Completes verification of benefits.

  • Adjudicate the claim and review response, proceed accordingly.

  • Investigates all unpaid claims and high copays to ensure the patient receives the most cost effective care.

  • Knowledgeable regarding Senderra’s community values and demonstrates them daily.

  • Participates in staff meetings, conference calls, and other meetings, as needed.

  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required.

  • Requires normal hearing levels (corrected).

  • Requires working at a desk to use a phone and computer for extended periods of time. Requires sitting, bending.

  • Uses office equipment and machinery effectively.
  • Requires normal finger dexterity for keyboarding
  • Works effectively with frequent interruptions.

  • Lifting requirements of 15 lbs occasionally.

  • Minimal travel <10%.
