Nurse Manager
Position Overview:
The Nurse Manager plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the daily operations of the nursing team. This position is responsible for managing people, processes, and resources to ensure high-quality care, efficient workflows, and alignment with organizational goals. The Nurse Manager promotes a collaborative, accountable, and solutions-focused culture, while supporting the professional growth and well-being of staff.

Experience Requirements:

3 - 5 years nursing and management experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Daily Oversight & Operational Management
- Oversee daily team operations, assigning tasks, establishing priorities, and monitoring progress to ensure timely and accurate completion of responsibilities, while maintaining employee accountability
- Establish and assign daily tasks and responsibilities to team members.
- Monitor workflow and progress to ensure timely and accurate task completion.
- Review and analyze performance metrics to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure proper documentation of workflows, processes, and decisions to support transparency and consistency.
- Forecast future needs in staffing, technology, and budgeting to maintain operational readiness.
Team Leadership & Culture Building
- Set clear expectations, goals, and responsibilities for individual employee performance.
- Set clear team objectives and expectations that align with organizational goals and values.
- Manage and resolve team conflicts professionally while fostering a healthy, respectful, and inclusive team culture.
- Promote innovation, adaptability, and continuous learning by encouraging new ideas and feedback.
Performance Management & Development
- Provide ongoing feedback and support to team members to ensure accountability and alignment with departmental standards.
- Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with employees, team huddles, and performance reviews to guide individual development and support team goals.
- Coach, mentor, and train staff to promote professional growth and prepare team members for future roles.
Staff Development & Engagement
- Foster a positive and motivating work environment that encourages professional growth.
- Support staff through individualized coaching, mentoring, and training initiatives.
- Identify development opportunities and support continuing education and skills enhancement.
Hiring & Onboarding
- Lead the recruitment, interviewing, and selection process for new team members.
- Oversee onboarding and orientation to ensure a smooth transition and successful integration into the team.
- Partner with training personnel to ensure new hires receive all required education and role-specific preparation.
Strategic Planning & Resource Management
- Lead resource planning efforts, including workforce scheduling, budgeting, and equipment allocation.
- Identify and mitigate risks to team operations or project success.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives and best practices to enhance team performance and service delivery.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a liaison between the nursing team and upper management, facilitating two-way communication to ensure clarity and alignment.
- Report progress, roadblocks, and key outcomes to leadership and other stakeholders in a timely and constructive manner.
- Facilitate team meetings and project retrospectives to encourage reflection, knowledge sharing, and improvement.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure team adherence to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Monitor operational compliance and take corrective action when necessary to maintain high standards of care and safety.
