Breast Cancer affects thousands throughout the United States every year. It’s the second most common type of cancer among women, besides skin cancer. Breast Cancer Awareness Month was launched in 1985 by the American Cancer Society and AstraZeneca to promote early detection and mammography. The pink ribbon, now a global symbol of hope and awareness, was introduced in the early 1990s by the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Estée Lauder Companies.
Each October, we honor survivors, remember those lost, and support ongoing research toward a cure. Wearing pink in the month of October is a symbol of this support for those impacted by breast cancer. That’s why we had a day dedicated to wearing pink at Senderra, a small but meaningful gesture to raise awareness and show solidarity with patients, survivors, and their loved ones. On October 22, 2025, many employees wore pink shirts, sweaters, and accessories of all kinds to the office in honor of those fighting against breast cancer. See pictures from the office below!
